Requirements Gathering and Specification

Our approach to requirements gathering involves defining a clear scope of the project deliverables and the major milestones that lead to its success.

The first step is to consult with stakeholders and end users to focus the goals around the business needs.

A scope and approach document is then produced, which captures the outcome of the consultation to define the project deliverables and initial acceptance criteria. A further period of revision is completed, as required, and is used to seek approval from senior stakeholders.

Meanwhile, the requirements gathering process is started; one to one meetings with users and stakeholders to obtain their requirements, which are documented as a series of user stories.

Business Analysis is then applied to the requirements, to determine if they are necessary and fall within the projects scope and that they are aligned with business strategies.

Finally, the user stories are translated into a technical specification which is a clearly defined document that can be shared with suppliers, or form part of a tender process.

Optionally, presentations and short animated videos are created to explain the concept of the project and place the requirements into context.
